JOB SUMMARY:

Responsibilities:



The Senior Systems Administrator is required to accommodate the rapid growth of Nuance's Enterprise Cloud Delivery Services infrastructure. An experienced Senior Systems Administrator is sought to plan and lead infrastructure delivery. The position is essential to enable the growth of our global infrastructure at hosted datacenters.



The Senior Systems Administrator will provide technical leadership performing the engineering and integration of systems & storage infrastructure to support Enterprise Cloud Delivery Services architectures and business unit integrations. Daily responsibilities include interacting with Architecture, Product, Operations, Information Security and PMO-based project teams to ensure operational availability, perform design initiatives to enable new services and documentation of highly complex technical environments. Candidates must be well versed in server, storage and networking technologies acquired through 10+ years in designing complex computing environments. Hands-on technical skills are required for this is position.

* Provides Engineering and Design contributions to complex, highly-available global computing environment.

* Engineer computing infrastructure solutions that meet customer and Enterprise Cloud Delivery Services private cloud requirements & standards. These solutions must be easily and cost-effectively deployed within Enterprise Cloud Delivery Services hosting centers.

* Define the technical requirements for new deployments based on contracts signed with customers.

* Define the system integration and engineering for new platform/program services.

* Drive technical discussions with customers to finalize requirements and system engineering requirements to translate into computing infrastructure.

* Third-level support for deployed systems.

* Plan and design the physical deployment of a solution.

* Design rack layout for projects to meet general deployment guidelines.

* Work with Solutions Architecture and Datacenter Operations to produce and maintain rack cabling diagrams.

* Obtain quotes from different suppliers for the required equipment.

* Track shipments and installation set-up to meet project deadlines.

* Work with Systems Administration, Datacenter Operations and Network Engineering to define and document the location of the various physical/virtual machines, required subnets/VLANS, VIPs, firewall rules, etc.

* Participate in the definition and specification of the datacenter s computing services and platforms.

* Work with the peer administrator/engineers/architects to engineer & design the server and storage layers of a highly available computing platform.

* Evaluate and increase the capacity of the server and storage infrastructure when capacity is required.

* Provisioning and capacity planning.

* Participate in the development of tools and processes to enhance deployment productivity and efficiency.

Required Skills:

* Extensive knowledge in current IT technologies including Windows, Linux, VMware.

* Experience designing computing infrastructures supporting hosted operations within large-scale, global deployments.

* Experience in system architecture or systems engineering for integration into IP-based network infrastructures.

* Demonstrated problem solving, capacity planning and process creation skills.

* Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.

* Attention to detail with methodical problem-solving approach.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience in TDM/SIP telephony delivery and troubleshooting.

* Knowledgeable in current IT technologies including F5, HDS, HPE hardware.

* Knowledge of voice-based applications (VoIP).

* Previous experience in hosted environments.
