SUMMARY:

The Senior Living Counselor is responsible for sales related activities and implementation of the sales efforts outlined in the community s marketing plan specifically related to Independent Living and may include licensed areas.

The Senior Living Counselor upholds the philosophy, vision, and core values of the organization and ensures the Christian Mission of Lutheran Senior Services is realized so that Older Adults Live Life to the Fullest .

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Works to fulfill the marketing objectives of the community and works to create a marketing environment that is consistent with the LSS brand.

* Meets, interviews, tours, and markets to potential residents and/or their support networks.

* Acts as a resource to the Home Office Marketing and Sales staff for integrated communications and pricing strategies.

* Actively networks to obtain lead referrals through a variety of sources such as trust officers, attorneys, local churches, senior groups, etc.

* Represents the Community to the public and all potential referral sources; develops and maintains relationships with community contacts and resources.

* Works with the Director of Regional Sales to plan, schedule, implement, and evaluate events on a regular basis to promote the community.

* Tracks appropriate information in the database throughout the sales process and generates corresponding reports.

* Implements, maintains, and promotes the Future Residency program.

* Learns and keeps up-to-date with the competitive market.

* Works with the Move-In Resource staff to coordinate move-ins.

* Works with the Stewardship staff to coordinate financial options counseling to prospective and future residents and their support networks.

* Works with the Home Office Marketing and Sales staff and the community Executive Director to develop a Marketing plan and budget. Tracks available inventory.

* Participates in LSS and external training that would further develop skills related to marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Bachelor s degree with emphasis in business/marketing and/or commensurate experience in marketing/sales.

* Experience in Senior Living or other sales role with demonstrated success is preferable.

* Excellent speaking, writing, and sales skills.

* Self-motivation to work independently and as a team member.

* Advanced knowledge of computers and the Internet.

In addition to the above minimum qualifications, this position will also possess demonstrated skills and ability to effectively present information to management and public groups; the ability to deal effectively with staff, residents, customers, visitors, and the general public, and the ability to implement and interpret programs, goals objectives, policies, and procedures. Must have the ability to work flexible hours including weekend and evening hours.

The employee is occasionally required to lift 25 pounds. The employee regularly spends time sitting in front of a computer viewing and inputting data.

There are periodic times of providing walking tours of the community which on occasion may require pushing a wheelchair with a prospective resident up to 200 lbs.
