Job Description
Senior Maintenance Mechanic Possesses a working knowledge of HVAC, electricity, plumbing, carpentry repairs and maintenance. Perform complex maintenance, repairs, and operates all Facility and Process equipment including but not limited to HVAC systems, chillers, pneumatic controls, lochinvars, building automation systems, VAV systems, air compressors, vacuum pumps, water pumps, boilers - (boiler plant operator to include water chemical treatment, tear down and repair boilers for annual inspections) troubleshoot autoclaves with little or no supervision. Assist Lab Ops team when troubleshooting equipment. Performs maintenance and repairs to building structural systems when required. Experienced in servicing, repairing and maintaining basis building components including doors, door hardware, electrical switches, outlets and lighting fixtures, toilet facilities, etc. Possesses a basic understanding of fire related equipment, fire control panels and sprinker systems. Performs regular audits, inspects, and evaluates the physical condition of the facilities for operability of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems) to determine if repairs are needed and make repairs in a timely manner. Tours facility to conduct building mechanical system checks and document accordingly. Immediately corrects unsafe conditions, blocked exits, fire hazards,etc. May perform other duties as assigned. Responsible for the accuracy, clarity and compliance of all documentation i.e. PM task sheets, Work Orders, Logbooks, etc, generated during the work shift. Performs all duties in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), and Facility SOPs. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. - Position requires a minimum of 10 years related experience. Some experience with a life science company preferred. - A basic understanding of Microsoft programs -Word, Excel, Outlook and is able to research and order materials for repairs as needed. - Experience with Kaye Lab Watch preferred, Tracer Summit and Siemens building automation systems required. - Must possess a Maryland 1st Grade Stationary Engineer license and CFC certificate. Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certification preferred. - Valid drivers license and good driving record required. HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT:
- Adheres to applicable safety SOPs and follows applicable safe work practices. - Will be able to lift up to 50lbs. - Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed. - Must be able to rotate with 'on call' schedule. - Occasional local travel may be required
