Organization Objective/Purpose:

The role of Schwab's Consumer Insight and Client Loyalty organization is to enable our partners by serving as catalyst, consultant, analyst, integrator, architect, and business leader. The Insight and Loyalty team is focused on firm-wide business decision support, advanced analytics, consumer insight, client loyalty, management reporting, and client and prospect data management, warehousing and analysis. As the hub for Schwab client-centric data, our charter is to apply rigorous analysis and data-backed reasoning to real-world issues to enable better decisions across Schwab, Fortune Magazines #1 Most Admired Firm in the Securities Industry.

Brief Description of Role:

The Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics will partner with Senior Leadership from across Schwab, Statisticians, Data Engineers, Marketing/media teams, and external vendors to deliver insights and solutions based on statistical and econometric analyses. By applying their experience and technological savvy in a hands-on analytics environment, the selected candidate will deliver insights that are applied to strategic and tactical initiatives with the potential for great effect on Schwab's position in the Financial Services industry. The candidate should be motivated by efficiently generating complex statistical modeling and analysis using SAS for the purpose of forecasting, optimization, and insights. The candidate must be passionate about optimizing the media and marketing spend for the entire organization.

The Senior Manager should be able to clearly communicate technical analytical results to increase our business partners' understanding of the findings and their confidence in our capabilities. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize SAS tools such as Marketing Mix Advisor to create dashboards and visualizations to help in communicating results of analysis to a broad audience. Our business partners place great emphasis on our ability to translate statistical and mathematical results in way that tells a clear story and guides them in actionable decisions.

Technical/Functional Qualifications:

* MS or PhD in statistics, economics, marketing, or related field with a strong interest in the application of modeling and analysis for marketing and media optimization.

* 5+ years experience in an advanced analytics consulting role (consulting to external clients and/or internal business partners), at least 2+ years in consumer behavior and marketing initiatives.

* Experience in marketing mix modeling and designing/analyzing experiments to measure marketing effectiveness, specifically to financial services, strongly preferred.

* Has worked directly with media teams and/or external media agencies in the purchasing, execution, and measurement of large-scale national marketing campaigns and in-market testing.

* Skilled at understanding high-level business questions, objectives, and needs in order to develop a thoughtful and robust analytics strategy.

* Has a point-of-view on the strengths and limitations of statistical models and analyses in various business contexts and is able to evaluate and effectively communicate the uncertainty in the results.

* Approaches analytical problems with an appropriate blend of statistical/mathematical rigor with practical business intuition.

* Brings a creative approach to quantitative analysis and problem solving and is able to comfortably think outside the traditional methodologies from the academic literature.

* Open to approaching statistical analyses in myriad ways in order to evaluate approaches and compare results.
