BRIEF DESCRIPTION
This mid-level position involves work in Design Engineering department to support development of new FAA PMA approved products, interface with Marketing, Quality and Manufacturing departments. Background in drafting and the key concepts associated with reverse engineering as they apply to Rexnords core products. This position is located in Simi Valley, California.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop Repair Specifications for DER Repairs
Reverse Engineering for PMA of parts.
Review existing DER Repairs and convert into Repair Routers
Revise Repair routers when necessary and Maintain all Repair Routers
Utilize CATIA for process planning, tool design, and CNC programming
Develop and modify manufacturing processes including process planning, fixtures, cutting tools, gages, programs, special processes, assembly, and inspection
Participate in LEAN initiative and utilize Six Sigma tools for process improvements
Bring new ideas and positive support to the current process
Implement Strategic Deployment (SD) improvements
Interface with suppliers and internal customers in an effective manner
Assure that manufacturing engineering technical data is complete and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical/historical base for future reference that meet customer requirements

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, CAPABILITIES AND SUCCESS FACTORS

BS Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering desired, equivalent work experience will be considered.

10 years experience with most phases of prototype or small batch aerospace precision machining processes including:

o Experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes and cutting tools

o Fixture design

o Experience and knowledge of in-process and final inspection tools and methods

o CNC CAD/CAM programming

o Manufacturing Process Planning utilizing CAD

o Knowledge of special processes

o Knowledge of PMA Process

o Familiar with FAA Regulations

o Knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100)

o New Product Development

o Cost Estimating is preferred

Ability to perform root cause and permanent corrective action

Ability to perform multi-task management

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong project and team leadership

Experience with CATIA, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, AutoCAD, Visio

Experience with Lean, Six Sigma is preferred

Composition of Detailed Work Instructions, Production Planning, and SOPs

Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
