JOB DESCRIPTIONPermanent position for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for injection molded plastic parts and electro-mechanical product design.Collaborate with functions like Manufacturing Engineering and Design Quality teams to develop waterproof / watertight electro-mechanical equipment. Collaborate with Marketing Product Manager in the development/update of 5-year Strategic Product Generation Plan, including new product development, research opportunities and product rationalization. As appropriate, participate or lead technical design reviews and failure investigations. Provide design oversight and consultation to other team members in the area of Hydro Mechanical design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), material selection, and closure design.Technically Lead and complete to schedule and budget specific product design initiatives including large system or platform projects.Collaborate with Engineering Services Manager on design process development initiatives, design architectures, department workflows and structure, etc. Reliability Engineering, HALT Product/ System TestingProduct Testing, Qualification and Compliance to relative Agency requirements.For all our 100+ job openings in New Jersey and NYC metro area, please visit: http://jobs.terkotech.com/
BS Mechanical Engineering or Polymer Science required.Minimum 5 years in
technical design capacity of injection molded part design for mechanisms
like gear boxes and turbines. In-depth knowledge of plastics including,
application based on properties, design for warp and shrinkage, and designing
of sealing surface, snap fits and optimal wall sections.Knowledge of molding
process, gate locations, tool ejection.Knowledge of finishing processes/technology
to achieve aesthetic appearances. Experience with hydraulic design for
water driven systems. Experience with system design and development methodology.Experience
with product development processes and disciplines.Experience with 'Design
of Experiments' (DOE) techniques.Experience with 'Failure Mode and Effects'
(FMEA) analysis.Skilled knowledge of finite element analysis, computational
fluid dynamics, heat transfer and other design tools as they relate to
plastics and non-linear materials.Experience with 3D CAD preferably with
SolidWorks.Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly.Green/Black
