JOB DESCRIPTIONSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Physician, Entry Level Position, Medical Surveillance & Coding (MSC) within DSPH
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS
Reviews adverse event reports received for marketed and investigational products, adhering to standard operating procedure guidance for medical assessment of individual case safety reports
Provides medical case safety assessment and pharmacovigilance comment for individual case safety reports
Provides support to the medical coding group on an ad hoc basis
Participates in literature review process on an ad hoc basis
Makes contributions to process improvements within DSPH, particularly with adverse event processing and operational aspects of medical review
Liaises with DSPH Operations group to provide medical consultation on an ad hoc basis
Serves as point of contact to support MSC-Individual Case Safety Assessment group
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
MD degree or equivalent; board certification is preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in drug safety/pharmaceutical industry, clinical research or clinical practice is required
Proficiency in verbal and email communication, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Excellent scientific/clinical and analytical knowledge base, with ability to assess data and understand the safety/medical implications
