DESCRIPTION
THE VOICE AND VIDEO ENGINEER WILL BE PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR VOICE AND VIDEO COLLABORATION ACROSS THE CORPORATE CAMPUS. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE CISCO EXPERIENCE, INFRASTRUCTURE/NETWORKED ENVIRONMENTS WITH HARDWARE (CUCM, CUPS, TELEPRESENCE) AND SOFTWARE (TMS, WEBEX, JABBER), BLENDED ENVIRONMENTS THAT INCLUDED MANAGED SOLUTIONS (HCS) AND CLOUD SOLUTIONS (GOOGLE HANGOUTS) TO SUPPORT OUR EXISTING FOOTPRINT AND A DEVELOPING UNDERSTANDING OF WEBRTC AND PLATFORM BASED SOLUTIONS SUCH AS TWILIO TO SUPPORT STRATEGIC INITIATIVES. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL RESEARCH, DESIGN, PLAN AND IMPLEMENT UP AND COMING VOICE AND VIDEO TECHNOLOGIES. THE CANDIDATE SHOULD DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND GROWTH OF THE COMPANY LEVERAGING STRONG SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IN THE VOICE AND VIDEO COLLABORATION SPACE, SEEING PROJECTS THROUGH ALL STAGES, INCLUDING DEFINING, DRAFTING AND PRESENTING TECHNICAL PROPOSALS, CREATING DETAILED DESIGNS, PLANNING DEPLOYMENT, REVIEWING HARDWARE CONFIGURATIONS, TROUBLESHOOTING TIER 3 ISSUES, AND ASSISTING USER COMMUNICATIONS TO DELIVER THE BEST POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS. STRONG COMMITMENT TO TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE AND TEAMWORK ARE REQUIRED. THIS POSITION MAY OCCASIONALLY REQUIRE OFF HOURS SUPPORT FOR ESCALATED ISSUES.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

* ANALYZE, DESIGN, TEST, DOCUMENT, IMPLEMENT AND SUPPORT OF GLOBAL CONVERGED VOICE AND VIDEO TECHNOLOGIES.

* RESEARCH AND RECOMMEND CONTEMPORARY AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES FOR DEPLOYMENT ACROSS THE ENTERPRISE IN SUPPORT OF VOICE AND VIDEO COLLABORATION.

* RECOMMEND FUTURE VOICE AND VIDEO SERVICE MODELS (ON-PREM, OFF-PREM, MIXED, MANAGED, ETC.) AND BUILD BUSINESS CASE OF RECOMMENDED CHANGES.

* DEVELOP AND DOCUMENT HIGH-LEVEL AND LOW-LEVEL ENGINEERING DESIGNS, DEVELOP IMPLEMENTATION PLANS, AND LONG TERM STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES FOR THE VOICE/VIDEO DOMAIN.

* LEADS AND CONTRIBUTES TO TECHNOLOGY PLANNING EFFORTS, INCLUDING PARTNERING WITH OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO DEFINE REQUIREMENTS AND TARGET STATE CAPABILITIES WHICH BALANCE COST, COMPLEXITY AND RISK.

* TRANSLATES COMPLEX BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS INTO UC TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS AND WORKS ACROSS TECHNICAL DISCIPLINES ENSURING SOLUTIONS ARE CROSS-FUNCTIONAL AND OPTIMIZED.

* MAKES DIRECTIONAL RECOMMENDATION, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT MULTIPLE FACTORS, INCLUDING RISKS, ALIGNMENT WITH CURRENT UC PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS, COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS AND FUTURE WEBRTC SOLUTIONS.

* DETERMINE VOICE AND VIDEO STRATEGIC GOALS, MILESTONES, AS WELL AS TACTICAL WORK STREAMS, REQUIRED SKILL SETS AND TECHNICAL ROADBLOCKS.

* VOICE AND VIDEO CAPACITY PLANNING, PERFORMANCE TUNING, TROUBLESHOOTING, AND SERVICE IMPROVEMENT.

* DEMONSTRATE SOUND JUDGMENT IN PROACTIVELY IDENTIFY POTENTIAL PROBLEMS, RECOMMEND PROPOSED SOLUTIONS FOR REMEDIATION AND ELICIT BUY-IN FOR PROPOSED SOLUTIONS.

* PREPARE AND MAINTAIN UP TO DATE DESIGN, STANDARDS, DOCUMENTATION FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS DETAILING CONFIGURATION OF DEPLOYED SOLUTIONS.

* IDENTIFY TASKS, REQUIRED SKILLS, ESTIMATED TIME, PRIORITY, DEPENDENCIES TO IMPLEMENT SOLUTIONS.

* PROVIDE TIER 3 SUPPORT FOR THE VOICE AND VIDEO SERVICES. COLLABORATE WITH VENDORS TO RESOLVE ISSUES AND ADJUST ON-GOING PROJECTS TO AVOID ISSUE RECURRENCE.

* DRIVE THE CONTINUAL EVOLUTION AND SUPPORT OF THE DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN FOR CONSISTENCY BETWEEN DR SITES.

* ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSIGNED.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

* 4+ YEARS OF HANDS ON NETWORK EXPERIENCE WITH AN EMPHASIS ON VOICE, VIDEO, OR WIRELESS TECHNOLOGIES.

* BACHELOR\'S DEGREE, OR EQUIVALENT IN IT WITH A CERTIFICATION, PREFERABLY CCNP.

* INTEREST IN EXPLORING NEW TECHNOLOGIES, VENDORS, SERVICE MODELS IS REQUIRED.

* IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST FIVE YEARS EXPERIENCE IN INSTALLING, CONFIGURING, DESIGNING, OPERATING, TUNING, AND DOCUMENTING H.323, H.264, SIP, VOIP, QOS AND WEBRTC IN AN ENTERPRISE ENVIRONMENT.

* EXPERIENCE WITH MASS ROLLOUT OF VOICE AND VIDEO ENDPOINTS IS PREFERRED.

* EXPERT UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOLLOWING CISCO UNIFIED COMMUNICATION PRODUCTS: CALL MANAGER (UP TO AND INCLUDING 10.5), UNITY CONNECTION, WEBEX T29 OR HIGHER, JABBER 9 OR HIGHER, CCA, PRIME, CISCO EMERGENCY RESPONDER.

* EXPERIENCE WITH VOICE GATEWAY CONFIGURATION, SRST, TRANSCODING, DIAL PEER CONFIGURATION, DIGIT MANIPULATION, DIAL PLAN DESIGN, AND WEBRTC TECHNOLOGIES.

* KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH SESSION INITIATION PROTOCOL (SIP) TRUNKING, INCLUDING CARRIER-BASED SIP SERVICE.

* WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF ITIL BEST PRACTICES PREFERRED.

* STRONG ANALYTICAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS, WITH PASSIONATE ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

* ABILITY TO PRIORITIZE MULTIPLE OBJECTIVES AND INITIATIVES.

* PREFERRED EXPERIENCE WITH VOICE OR VIDEO TECHNOLOGIES FROM CISCO, LIVEOPS, POLYCOM, LIFESIZE, TANDBERG, CITRIX, MICROSOFT, BLUEJEANS, GOOGLE, APPLE AND TWILIO.

* GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF CISCO VIDEO INFRASTRUCTURE AND QOS.

* THE ABILITY TO PARTNER CROSS-FUNCTIONALLY TO IDENTIFY AND RECOMMEND NETWORK OPTIMIZATION TO MEET BUSINESS NEEDS, AND INFLUENCE BOTH TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP.
