The Analytics & Insights team is responsible for data driven strategic thinking and insight across multiple touch points at CMG. Specifically, we:

Lead the development and evolution of our CMG s digital measurement platforms.
Derive insights from research and data.
Develop insights that inform digital strategy.
Provide a holistic view of performance across experiences and channels.
Support CMG business units in understanding digital audience data.

The Senior Optimization Analyst is responsible for working daily with business groups within CMG by deriving insights from data from various optimization tools and leveraging those to train end users on best practices of each to optimize our sites and apps. CMG s optimization efforts are focused on finding the best ways to serve our content that will encourage users to engage more specifically we aim to keep users on our sites longer and to consume more. The Sr. Optimization Analyst will be tasked with creating hypotheses that not only drive audience engagement, but also increase ad viewability and other KPIs as determined by the business groups. This will be one of the go-to positions within CMG to understand the current and future states of the organization s optimization efforts.

Job Responsibilities
Optimization:
Be the subject matter expert for all optimization tools that CMG uses. Toolset includes (but not limited to):
Optimizely
Chartbeat
Personalization tools
Quantcast
Must have experience hypothesizing, running, and analyzing A/B and multi-variate tests with the goal of increasing traffic and/or engagement on a site.
Be the main point of contact for all optimization strategy and planning internally and externally with vendors.
Exhibit strong analytical, project management, storytelling, and communication skills.
Partner with various internal and external groups to build and share strategies around optimizing our sites and apps to grow and retain our digital audience.
Provide thought leadership around optimization within and outside of CMG.
Vendor Management
Manage the relationships with optimization vendors (e.g., Optimizely, personalization vendors, Chartbeat, etc.).
Assist in the discovery and evaluation of new vendors while reassessing existing ones.
Contribute to contract negotiations and renewals as needed. Hold vendors accountable for the services promised.
Analytics
Develop, manage, and distribute data and insights derived from optimization efforts to drive business decisions at both a station and division level via regular and ad-hoc reporting - including statistical calculations, graphical representations, and written analyses utilizing various sources of data and data visualization tools.
Regularly communicate (daily, weekly, monthly) the progress of optimization activity and clearly articulate findings to a wide variety of audiences with varying degrees of analytics, UX, and optimization knowledge.
Showcase subject matter expertise in site and app optimization. Become an ad hoc expert on subjects as needed.
Partner with other groups to collect, synthesize, analyze, and present overall digital audience trends.
Training and Support
Train individuals and teams on how to use and best take advantage of various optimization tools and demonstrate how the tools can make an impact on the organization.
Troubleshoot problems with optimization tools both in data collection and customer usage of the toolset.
Liaise with other CMG departments, such as research, to provide insights about optimization efforts of our brands and trends of our consumers.
Properly manage expectations of end users with respect to training and reporting deliverables.
Maintain positive, collaborative partnerships with key internal stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
4+ years experience in digital media with an emphasis in analytics (web and/or social), site optimization, UX, and/or business intelligence.
2+ years of experience working with optimization tools to run A/B and multi-variate tests.
Knowledge around user experience principals and trends in the media space.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate information both written and verbal to multiple audience types.
Ability to quickly shift between responsibilities that demand longer term strategic vision and immediate tactical decisions/work.
Bachelor s degree required. Master s degree or equivalent work experience a plus.
