Schneider Electric Engineering Services, LLC is focused on helping facilities manage their energy and solve complex power system issues that may involve equipment, automation, or the utilities. We have the following position available in Norcross, Georgia:
Senior Power Systems Engineer:
S/he will design, integrate, and commission Auto-Throw-Over systems for industrial and commercial facilities and critical systems. S/he will program, configure, test, and coordinate medium voltage and low voltage relays and programmable logic controllers for power system protection and automation including commissioning and testing. S/he will perform arc-flash hazard and power quality studies on commercial, residential, industrial, and healthcare facilities in the US. 25% of travel to perform work at customer job sites including testing, assessments, and commissioning of electrical distribution systems. This position requires a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Physics, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering and four years of work experience in Electrical Engineering OR, in the alternative, a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Physics, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering and two years of work experience in Electrical Engineering, OR, in the alternative a PH.D. in Applied Physics, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Also must have some work experience or advanced coursework with: the theories, operation and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers for power system automation and controls, modeling and analyzing power distribution systems using Etap, Easypower, SKM, Power-World or similar electrical distribution modeling and analysis software to perform power system analyses, learned relay protection methods and interpreted electrical equipment layout and schematics to coordinate protection devices in a power system, design and operation of microgrids, including sizing of distributed energy resources, interconnection methods and financial considerations, detailed design and analysis of interconnection methods, controlled power-restoration and closed-transfer methods for microgrid energy sources to achieve system resiliency and compliance with IEEE Std. 1547, providing recommendations for resolving power quality issues, mitigating arc-flash hazards or automation solutions, and able to read, interpret and analyze power monitoring equipment data such as harmonics, ground impedance, etc.
