JOB DESCRIPTIONWhat you\'ll be doing...
In this position, you will oversee release management for Tableau releases. You will work with your peers in other disciplines to coordinate delivery of product release and various projects you are responsible for. As a result, you are at the heart of the software release action every day and will drive and manage multiple projects at once. You have a deep understanding of the development release lifecycle and of industry standard release systems and tools in order to scale our release process and enable the development team to continue the high pace innovation that makes Tableau great. You understand what our customers need after we release and how to improve their experience through our maintenance releases. You can take an existing software release process and make it greater by eliminating inefficiencies and envisioning the roadmap to support larger scale ahead of time.

You love data, are passionate about software design, project management and coordination. You are tenacious and focus on the details while striving to maintain and support the flexibility that an innovative product company needs to grow and be successful. Some of the things you'll be doing include....
Responsible for the release management aspects of multiple software development projects.
Define release practices and work with other stakeholders and architects to implement best development practices that lead to predictable and high quality releases.
Work with development teams and groups to establish detailed project schedules and cross-team dependencies to ensure delivery to those schedules.
Drive feature project definition and ensure cross-functional coordination (product development, product testing, systems development, design, management) towards the successful delivery of the engineering projects.
Advocate for the release systems, responsible to drive evangelization of the release scrum team s goals.
Oversee that all projects execute smoothly and effectively, recommend process improvement to increase engineering team efficiency and velocity.

Who you are...*LI-EM1
Experience with Release management and/or Program & Product Management for mid to large size development teams.
Experience with Tableau products a definite plus.
Strong project management background, unparalleled communication skills, and an ability to work with developers, testers, designers, and other disciplines to make the best decisions.
Ability to design processes and methodology to build a repeatable and consistent project management framework that will help the team.
Ability to work with leadership stakeholders and drive to decisions and implementation of new processes.
Ability to handle ambiguity effectively and handle multiple projects at once.
* BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* 10+ years experience in the software industry
* 5+ years experience in release/program/product management in the software industry
