Growing Pharmaceutical company is seeking a Project Manager who will manage complex projects to successful and timely decision points from Late Stage Research through Proof of Concept and beyond. The Sr. Project Manager will actively contribute to the definition of project strategy and guide the project core and sub teams to deliver on project objectives. This position will be accountable for steering drug development teams in meeting their objectives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

* Support the development and execution of the product development program's project plan -- including costs, timing and deliverables - to achieve project goals through a Project Team
* Provide support in resolving project issues by managing contingency planning and influencing risk mitigation strategies with input from various functions
* Develop and maintain high level and detailed timelines that utilize project management software tools, with input from the functional leads, assuring that the functional timelines are aligned with global program timelines
* Track functional milestones (CMC, Clinical, Regulatory) and other sub-team activities to ensure overall adherence to the project timeline
* Bring issues to the VP of Development Strategy or Chief Medical Officer's attention when necessary and participate in the resolution of delays or potential delays
* Actively manage, in coordination with VP of Development Strategy, internal and external collaboration partners, and outside vendors, when appropriate
* Update timeline on an on-going basis to allow transparency to the organization and report on the project's status
* Provide quarterly financial updates sufficient to fully track expenditures and accruals against the project budget
* Prepare progress reports and ad hoc reports as required, identifying and anticipating issues that threaten a project's adherence to the timeline and budget
* Manage Project Team meetings and ensure the proper conduct during those meetings (minutes, agendas, action items, etc.)

* Participate in development of project management tools, templates, processes
* Respond to changing duties as responsibilities may vary based on potential pipeline growth, project needs, and stages of development (preclinical, clinical or commercial)

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED:

* A BA or BSdegree in the Life Sciences; advanced degree is desired. The ideal candidate will have greater than 8years multi-disciplinary expert knowledge of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with in depth 4 - 8years direct project management in drug development, and PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent a plus.
* Demonstrated track record of successfully driving projects to completion on time and within budget, indicating a very clear understanding of clinical/drug development project management

* Proficiency in use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project software is a must; Visio is a plus
* Knowledge of drug development processes in product development across all functions (CMC, Clinical, Regulatory)
* Alliance management experience a plus
* Filing experience a plus
* Excellent organizational skills
* Demonstrated ability to work well with other accomplished professionals, within and across functions/teams

* Capable of managing meetings within a multicultural environment
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

* Ability to adapt behavior to situation
* Ability to hold oneself and others accountable for commitments in a productive and assertive, positive (not aggressive) manner
* Good analytical and planning skills
* Strong communication skills both written and oral
* Skilled in writing project documentation
* Ability to communicate well one-on-one and in small groups
