JOB DESCRIPTIONVHB is seeking a Senior Project Manager with at least 10 years of private sector experience to join its growing Land Development group in our Richmond, VA office.
VHB's passionate professionals include engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with public and private clients in the real estate, transportation, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
Together, we work to improve mobility, enhance communities and economic vitality, and balance development and infrastructure needs with environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities include: Manage small, moderate and large land development design projects, working within a team of professionals to develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects Responsible for project financial performance and client relations Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them Manage work and development of other staff Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents
Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Self-motivated Innovative Attention to detail Ability to think critically Ability to multitask Strong computer skills Excels working in a team environment Exhibits strong leadership skills
Qualifications: 10 years or more of civil engineering experience, specifically with private sector projects Experience in Virginia is preferred BS in Civil Engineering or related degree required Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia required Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management CAD experience required
