Job Description
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Purchasing Agent will assure the availability, coordination and cost effectiveness of all supplies, materials, equipment and services needed to maintain the planned operation of assigned labs, clinics and facilities. Analyze spend data, cost history, vendor quality, department processes to continually improve efficiency and reduce cost. Negotiate contracts/agreements in conjunction with strategic direction from Corporate Purchasing. Work with other departments and company locations to implement needed procedures or procedural changes to support operations. Supervise and train assigned staff effectively. REQUIRED SKILLS: Education and Experience: 1. Bachelors degree in a related field 2. 5 years experience in purchasing, supply chain or related discipline 3. Experience in contract negotiation and/or bidding 4. 2 years of supervisory responsibility experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Understanding of accounting and budgeting principles 2. Strong negotiating skills 3. Knowledge and understanding of contracts 4. Strong written and verbal communications skills 5.
