JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr. QA Analyst is responsible for leading, coordinating and managing all quality and testing efforts within a given platform in order to drive business satisfaction. This includes leading the development of test strategies, plans, schedules, and oversight of test execution efforts for a given platform. This role will work as a liaison to business stakeholders, IT partners and vendors, including both on and off-site teams, to ensure that testing, quality and validation activities meet business requirements, design specifications, and are within defined quality limits and standards. They will work collaboratively to develop and monitor quality metrics that measure the effectiveness of validation/testing efforts in an effort to improve processes to work towards the prevention of defects.

The Sr. QA Analyst will provide mentorship, guidance and instruction to QA analysts and other members of the IT team around QA best practices, methodology and standards as well as perform periodic audits to ensure that work is consistent, standardized, adequate test case coverage is provided, and tools are up to date and comply with the standards implemented across the department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor s degree required. 7 years relevant experience may be substituted for degree.

* Strong working knowledge of Test Maturity Model Integration (TMMi) preferred.

* One or more of the following certifications is a plus:
o Certification through the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) at the foundation level (CTFL) or above.
o ITIL certification * Minimum five (5) years experience in testing complex applications required.

* Minimum seven (7) years of overall QA and software testing experience with an understanding of functional, integration, system, and regression testing required.

* Experience coordinating and leading user acceptance testing required.

* Experience testing data warehouse, analytics systems, and/or ERP systems preferred.

* Experience testing Trizetto applications, including Facets, preferred.

* Minimum two (2) years experience in Healthcare/Insurance industry experience required.

* A minimum of three (3) years experience using SQL and Java scripting strongly preferred.

* Three (3) years experience with test management tools required; Experience with Rational Quality Manager and/or Zephyr preferred.

* Experience working with offshore and remote teams is strongly preferred.

* Strong working knowledge of software quality assurance principles, practices and metrics required.

* Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving and decision making skills including experience required.

* Demonstrated excellence in verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills with technical and non-technical audiences are required.

* Demonstrated experience in SQL and Microsoft Access strongly preferred.

* Experience in software testing methodologies required.

* Thorough knowledge of IBM/Rational suite of functional testing tools, Jira, and/or Zephyr preferred.

* Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycles required.

* Working knowledge of software design principles and quality assurance methodologies required.

* Experience facilitating joint application development (JAD) sessions is preferred.

* Experience facilitating user acceptance testing is required.

* Applied knowledge of use cases required.

* Ability to think creatively and outside of the box is required.

* Strong working knowledge of software quality assurance principles, practices and metrics required.
