Seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia for a leading media and data services company with 1,100 employees nationwide.

The Senior Software Engineer will join an exciting team of top-notch engineering talent where you will have the opportunity to work on a brand-new analytics platform. This analytics platform team is responsible for building a unified platform to handle the various data analysis workloads across the company. You will work with data scientists, business stakeholders and your team members to design, build, and operationalize strategic analytics objectives.

Responsibilities include:
Participating in the design and implementation of sophisticated software systems in Scala using functional programming techniques, participating in software design and code reviews, where reviews are held to ensure a high level of software quality and to share knowledge with team members, participating in, and adhere to, professional softwareengineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agilesoftware development, test driven development, continuous integration, source code management (git), Jira, and Stash, address production issues in a timely manner including root cause analysis and working with manager and team members to resolve the problem, maintaining a high level of proficiency with Computer Science/SoftwareEngineering knowledge and contribute to the technical skills growth of other team members, and working well independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge for the position includes:
Passion for computer science and programming, strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, knowledge of functional programing languages and techniques, knowledge of object-oriented programming languages and techniques and solid understanding of concurrency and concurrent programming techniques.

Required skills include:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, or comparable work experience, proficiency with functional programming using Scala, Clojure, F#, ML, Lisp, Ocaml, or similar language, proficiency in object oriented development using Java, C++, C#, Ruby, or similar language, proficiency with unit testing, proficiency with Version Control, desire to learn new technologies and languages a big plus, able to convey information concisely and clearly, able to work closely and effectively with peer developers and work on several active projects simultaneously, experience with big datatechnologies such as Cassandra, Spark, Hadoop, etc., strongly desired, knowledge of statistical analysis desired.
