Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

B US citizen or permanent resident only. /B BR BR B Position Description: /B BR The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer works within Information Services to ensure the productivity, reliability and accuracy of the systems and data used within the applications. They review requirements and specifications, create test plans and design detailed test specifications that effectively evaluate very complex system of applications, interfaces and databases. BR BR B Responsibilities: /B BR UL LI Communicate plans, status, and issues to management and stakeholders LI Create test plans and coordinate their review and incorporation into project plans LI Create, document and execute test cases to provide coverage of project requirements LI Provide reports on the progress of test development and test execution, including requirements coverage and defect metrics LI Work with Systems Engineering and DBAs to ensure that test environments are available and appropriately configured and populated with test data LI Analyze the results of testing, submit defect reports, and lead the triage of defect reports to ensure that they are properly prioritized and assigned LI Review system and operational documentation LI Lead the quality assurance efforts on multiple and simultaneous projects LI Effectively integrate the quality assurance engineering and analysis functions on all projects LI Contribute to tools evaluation and selection for quality assessment to maintain continuous improvement efforts LI Create and maintain documentation for quality assurance procedures and audit quality programs and control procedures for adherence to standards and procedures LI Provide senior level consultation and facilitation regarding software quality assurance procedures and testing methods LI Test new programs, tools and techniques for acceptability, usability, and performance as documented; make recommendations as necessary LI Research new data processing methods, tools and techniques that can improve customer quality and productivity LI Evaluate processes and coordinate with others to provide recommendations for standards, guidelines and procedures LI Review the quality of unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing and user testing /LI /UL P B U Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: /U /B /P UL LI Minimum five years quality assurance experience including at least two years testing multi-tier, web-based applications LI Experience with critical data validation including accuracy of formulae and algorithms used in the processing and reporting of stored data LI Experience reviewing requirements for testability and clarity LI Ability to provide estimates of testing effort based on requirements and solution information LI Ability to test multi-tier, web-based applications LI Ability to perform complex SQL queries (data testing directly against the database) on various database Servers (especially MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL). LI Ability to test on a variety of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX.
