JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, Third Party Manufacturing and Chemicals, this individual will contribute to the development of and lead the implementation of NP/PDI's chemical strategy, while managing all associated sourcing activities. The position will serve to support the successful execution of NP/PDI's overall business strategy while meeting or exceeding the Procurement organizational performance goals related to Total Procured Value (TPV) including: total cost of ownership, supply surety/risk, net working capital, and partnered innovation / business growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Contribute to the development of - and lead the implementation of - NP/PDI's chemicals strategy, while managing all associated sourcing activities.
Category spend management -Chemicals:
* Contribute to development - and lead implementation of - category plan and sourcing strategies (including risk mitigation plans) for all chemical material groups
* Handles requests for information, quotations, proposals, and bidding processes. Negotiate commercial terms, execute and manage supply contracts
* Evaluates current and potential suppliers in coordination with Supplier Quality Team ; maintain vendor scorecards
* Continuously monitor relevant commodity market conditions, trends, and activities
Provide procurement support to all basic business activities:
* Scout for new vendors in support of business strategy
* Support timely new product / vendor developments & launches
* Procurement subject matter expert for chemicals across NP/PDI
* Work cross functionally to deliver on RFQ/Procurement cost savings, risk mitigation projects, and supplier enabled innovation
* Support and/or lead vendor transitions
* Continuously manage procurement elements of BPCS (ERP system)
* Collaborate with SO&P to optimize inventories while ensuring timely supply

Supplier Development and Relationship Management:
* Directly interfaces with current and potential suppliers to maximize 'Total Procured Value' from chemical supplier base
* Develops 'weekly production schedules' with SO supports vendor qualifications
* Establishes and maintain rapport with all levels of supplier personnel
* Identifies opportunities and implements actions to achieve efficiencies and mitigate risk

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

* Bachelor's Degreerequired preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or a related technical field or equivalent work experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

* Strategic and operational procurement
* Category spend management
* Supply contract management
* Chemical manufacturers markets
* Procurement related financial & quantitative analysis
* Supply risk mitigation & management

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* 4+ years operational procurement experience, 2+ years strategic procurement experience, preferably with chemicals
* 4+ years of cross-functional procurement led/facilitated project management experience, preferably in consumer packaged goods

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

* Strong working knowledge of strategic & operational procurement principles, theories and processes
* Proven ability to manage multiple, often complex projects concurrently and deliver agreed upon results in timely fashion
* Excellent product and/or supplier scouting skills
* Strong facilitation skills with a proven ability to influence and motivate others
* Strong supplier development & relationship management skills
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Excellent verbal & written communication skills
* Self-driven with an entrepreneurial & proactive approach and a passion for procurement
* Proficiency in mid-size ERP system with BPCS as preferred choice
