Job Summary

The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer will lead improvements in internal and external customer satisfaction and company performance, by continuously driving down supplier non-conformances and reducing process variation through effective utilization of continuous improvement techniques. The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer will also assist in the development of suppliers and special processors through effective mentoring, quality improvement systems and process control improvement methods application. This position will involve the application of multiple problem solving tools, such as 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa Diagram, Cause Mapping, etc. in collaboration with suppliers, sub tiers, and internal customers. The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer will also assist in the development of receiving inspection personnel through effective mentoring and skill development programs, and perform onsite audits and leading indicator risk assessments. This position requires 20-40% domestic and international travel to suppliers, special processors, and sub tiers.


Basic Qualifications
Minimum of five or more years of experience in an Aerospace Industry or equivalent work-related experience in Supplier Quality Engineering field related to the manufacturing of Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, and electronic devices / assemblies.
Sound knowledge in AS-9100, AS-9102, ISO-9001, NADCAP and the ability to audit to these standards
Solid background in materials and related processes, basic metallurgy, heat-treating, chemical processing, coatings, welding, brazing, machining, NDT, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
10 or more years of experience in an Aerospace Industry or equivalent work-related experience in Supplier Quality Engineering field related to the manufacturing of Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, and electronic devices / assemblies.

Solid background in materials and related processes, strong metallurgy background, heat-treating, chemical processing, coating, welding, brazing, machining, NDT)

Sound knowledge of Lean and Six-Sigma tools: Kaizen (VSM, Standard Work, TPI, SMED), Problem Solving, DMAIC, DFSS, DFM, PFMEA, APQP

Certified Quality Engineer from the American Society of Quality
Sound knowledge of Syteline ERP System and Synergis

Education/Previous Experience

Bachelor s degree in Engineering
Outstanding communication skills both written and oral; especially technical writing skills.

Must be highly organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task projects and priorities and work in a fast pace schedule driven environment

Proficiency in conducting supplier QMS and process audits to ensure that all suppliers meet the quality requirements of Esterline Power Systems / Leach International and its' customers, in accordance with AS9100, IS09001, Boeing D6 82479, Mil I-45208A, MIL-STD-790, AMS, ASTM, ANSI, or other applicable standards.
