JOB DESCRIPTIONIn this role, you will be composing simple letters, memos, confidential reports, and completes standard forms from information received in handwritten or typed form, generally without being given specific oral or written instruction.
** Compiles information for logs; summarizes and types information retrieved from logs.
** Creates manual and electronic files; searches for files; retrieves information from files; monitors use of confidential and miscellaneous files and their contents; purges files and/or information from files; closes files.
** Sets up or revises filing systems; sorts and; files a variety of printed and/or recorded materials.
** Operates a variety of office machines such as, copier, facsimile, and multiple line telephone systems.
** Operates a microcomputer, employing various commercial software systems, and specialized department systems to accomplish data input, manipulation and output.
** Prepares a variety of departmental forms for approval as needed per company policy.
Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as assigned.
** Assists in the development, organization and coordination of internal and external meetings.
** Reviews logs and updates computer system with departmental related information.
** Proofreads departmental communications.
** Maintains departmental inventory.
** Acts as departmental liaison.
** Obtains other insurance information and reports to Department of Health Services and Member Services.
** Assists with research and reporting of claims related information including TPL
** reporting, out of area and any other duties as needed.
** Print CSIM call report and distribute to appropriate staff.
** Distribute claims to staff received through Claims Workflow.
** Print system generated letters for staff, mail and or distribute to processor.
** Validate claims data in Correction and Completion module.
** Data entry claims data for Black and White claim forms.
** Handle daily quality control errors for Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
** Assist Support Clerks with opening, sorting and preparing claim batches for front end scanning as needed.
** Maintain daily production log of documents validated.
** Distribute referrals to other departments within the organization.
MUST haves: Knowledge of: ICD-9 and CPT coding procedures. CMS1500 and UB04 claim forms. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of computerized on-line data entry systems, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications or its equivalence. Must be highly motivated, organized, and flexible, and possess good time management skills. Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in data entry and report content. CERTIFIED BILINGUAL in Spanish, Tier 1.
Education: High School Diploma from an accredited school or equivalent; diploma or GED certificate required. Typing skill of 45 WPM within one year of issuance required. Two (2) years? office clerical experience preferably in the managed care and /or health insurance industry.
