Job Description
10+ years of hands-on experience with server applications in a UNIX networked environment. Applies hardware engineering design theories and principles in designing and developing product hardware and software interfaces. Understand complex integration of one or more areas, innovate solutions, operate strategically understanding and applying long term business goals.
Required Skills/AbilitiesHigh level of expertise in the following areas: AIX, HP-UX, Linux (specifically Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server), Virtualization technologies (LPARs, VMWare, etc.) and Citrix. Strong expertise in Active Directory, LDAP and tools to integrate UNIX access control and authentication with AD (Centrify). Detailed understanding of IP-based networking, routing, firewalls, SSH, DNS, DHCP, SSL, NFS, NTP.
A solid understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; writing scripts, system installation and configuration, automated monitoring systems, security hardening, automated management, patch management, installing third-partysoftware, and resolving software and OS dependency requirements.
Experience with clustering solutions for high performance database environments (Microsoft SQL Server clustering and Oracle RAC) strongly preferred.
Strong ability to troubleshoot complex production environments.
