Dewberry is a leading professional services firm with a 50-year history of providing quality transportation engineering design services to a wide variety of public and private sector clients.
Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer for their office in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The successful candidate will have experience in traffic engineering including: Traffic Signal Design; Traffic Control Plans; Signing and Pavement Marking Plans; and Traffic Impact Studies.
Candidate will also need the ability to develop and assess design and/or operational alternatives; and develop Transportation Management Plans (TMPs) in accordance with local, state and federal policies and requirements; and provide transportation and land use reviews applicable to land development projects. Exposure to project management and budgeting, preparing technical and cost proposals, contract plan preparation and understanding of QA/QC procedures are desirable.
Candidate may be requested to aid in assignments for other Dewberry offices.","BS in Civil Engineering
NJ Professional Engineer license is required, PA Professional Engineer license is a plus
PTOE is desirable
10-20 years of experience in traffic engineering, preferably on NJDOT projects
Proficient with MicroStation V8i
Working knowledge of NJDOT design standards and practices
Familiarity with MUTCD and AASHTO; HCM and HCS; Synchro/SimTraffic software
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
Determine scope of work and prepare man-hour estimates for traffic engineering tasks
Quality control oversight for all aspects of the traffic engineering tasks
Maintain good employee relations and project communication with both internal and external clients
Experience with Highway/Roadway Lighting and ITS design a plus
