JOB DESCRIPTIONSenior Vendor Risk Management Analyst
A Senior Vendor Risk Management Analyst is responsible for analyzing data, creating reports, developing presentations, and managing projects. This role will support the Director of Vendor Risk Management (DVRM) and the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and interface with Bank's line of business and their respective Business Process Owners (BPOs) to help fulfill Bank's vendor risk management requirements.
Analyzes data from the VRM system and other sources to identify risks and ensure vendor performance and accountability. Creates reports with meaningful risk management information. Develops presentations to various levels of management and/or the Board of Directors and its committees. Develops metrics/key risk indicators to provide VRM risk oversight tools. Communicates results of analyses and makes recommendations, if applicable, clearly and concisely. Supports efforts for ongoing vendor monitoring including the use of services such as Google Alerts and Westlaw with a focus on areas of potential concern that require follow-up and tracking. Responds to directives established by the DVRM, CRO, and senior management, as necessary. Reviews risk assessments and due diligence performed by BPOs on their vendor relationships to identify and help mitigate risks. Provides feedback to the line of business around risks, controls, remediation, and reporting. Produces value added vendor risk identification and reporting. Contributes to continual improvement of VRM program across bank. Participates in appropriate training and professional development to maintain a high level of knowledge regarding VRM standards and practices necessary to fulfilling the group's functions. Performs special projects and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent including a quantitative field. Minimum five years' experience in vendor risk management. Experience with a financial institution preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of vendor risk concepts and applicable regulatory guidance (e.g., FDIC and FRB). Computer literate with advanced proficiency in internet navigation, word processing, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and formulate recommendations. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work with financial systems and apply mathematical concepts. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to develop presentations based on self-performed analysis with limited supervision. Ability to update policy documents and enhance procedures as required. Ability to exercise sound judgment. Ability to build relationships with business units and management. Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-tasked environment. Ability to solve problems and obtain needed results. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
