JOB DESCRIPTIONDescription The Service Consultant is a challenging and fast paced role that requires high levels of engagement with assigned Sales Consultants and Dealers. The Service Consultant is responsible for ensuring assigned accounts achieve measureable results from their current product set ultimately resulting in retention of their book of business.
The Service Consultant is responsible for the retention and effective merchandising of a set of assigned accounts. This role provides proactive account management and knowledgeable, results-oriented service for dealership accounts. They will proactively monitor the performance of assigned accounts as well as offer recommendations for improvement in the utilization of products to Dealers and Sales Consultants.
Position reports to Associate Manager Service Plus, and interacts on a daily basis with Sales to understand dealership issues and integrate account insights into effective sales strategies.
In this role, the Key Responsibilities are:
Work in conjunction with Sales team as a key business partner with an in depth understanding of assigned Sales Consultants expectations, challenges, and opportunities as well as assigned dealerships processes and expectations.
Develop and continually strengthen relationships with assigned Sales Consultants to ensure that dealers are provided unparalleled service, account performance and ROI.
Monitor and analyze account performance and trends to determine adjustments to dealer merchandising in order to achieve results.
Determine and work with at risk accounts, partner with Sales and Dealers to provide Merchandising Action Plans to retain business.
Demonstrate ownership of assigned accounts and provide responsive and timely support and resolution for Sales Consultants and Dealer Customers.
Proactively make decisions on assigned book of business to help with retention and provide Dealer Customers with the highest ROI possible.
Maintain a strong knowledge of AutoTrader.com applications, product suites, customers and reporting capabilities.
Foster a partnership with Sales Consultants and District Sales Manager; communicate operational status and activity on shared accounts.
Generate performance reports, account audits and value presentations in support of Sales Team.
HS Diploma or GED equivalent is required; Bachelor s degree is strongly preferred
Experience with internet automotive advertising and related applications and tools required.
Experience working in an automotive dealership environment is preferred.
3+ years experience in a customer focused, account management, environment required.
1+ year proven experience coordinating, managing and prioritizing tasks in a deadline driven environment required.
Proven experience and demonstrated ability to work in an independent, goal oriented environment required.
Proven experience and demonstrated ability to build and maintain cross-departmental, multi-functional and collaborative relationships required.
Proven experience and demonstrated ability to analyze customer problems and trends to offer suggestions and recommendations for improvement and success required.
Demonstrated, advanced skills in relationship management, communication (verbal, written, phone and email) and interpersonal skills required.
Proven ability to effectively work with sales and all levels of dealership staff.
Exceptional listening skills and demonstrated ability to detect problem/risks in a remote relationship.
Advanced analytical skills, flexibility, and real-time problem-solving while interacting with customers is required.
Proficiency in using CRM systems.
Experience using complex reporting systems; ability to learn proprietary systems
Strong knowledge and experience with business software
