Department Job Description Service Express Dispatcher at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa Non-Exempt / Hourly / Full Time The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa offers our Full Time Associates excellent benefits! Be the very first point of contact for our Guests calling the beautiful Westin Kierland Resort and Spa! Our Service Express Operator team is responsible for extending a personal and instinctual greeting for those calling into and within our property. This position is an information source for those calling into the hotel. Knowledge of the property's amenities, hotel layout, and area attractions will be necessary for this person's success. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are required. Basic computer aptitude also needed in order to maintain hotel reports and access web based information. Previous customer service and hospitality experience strongly preferred due to the high level of guest (internal and external) contact. Ideal candidate will have previous experience working multi-phone lines in a high volume business environment. Prior Food and Beverage experience a plus, but not required. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays required (overnight shifts may be required). Convey orders to both the servers and Food & Beverage for accurate and prompt delivery. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AVERAGE ' OF TIME 60' Answer the Service Express telephone within three (3) rings with established standard telephone greeting using the guests name. Take order with 100' accuracy. 20' Advise guest of all promotions, and/or daily specials and apply upsell techniques when applicable. 20' Settle all Service Express and hospitality checks to the correct method of payment. Distribute any paid-outs. Balance all paid-outs. Prepare and balance the days receipts at the end of the shift. Submit cash deposits per policy. Other: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Take telephone orders from customers not in the hotel, send gift baskets or special order items to arriving or in-house guests. Respond to hospitality inquiries and record all pertinent information for the Service Express Manager to follow-up. Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
