Setup & Operate Grinding

Description:
Position Summary:
Second shift position - Set-up and operates various
types of internal/external grinders. Duties include
making set-ups, use of shoe setting fixtures, setting
loading and unloading chutes, setting gauging system,
reading blueprints, holding precision measuring
instruments. May be required to work in other areas
based on production needs.
Essential Functions:
* Must have experience in setting a variety of
internal/external grinding machines including Bryant
grinders, 2CF internal grinders, and Landis Micro
grinders.
* Responsible for quality of all parts produced.
* Required to have necessary tools.
* Operates machines according to exact tolerances
specified on engineering prints.
* Ability to read blueprints.
* Ability to set gauging systems.
* Must be able to maintain tolerances of less than
.001 .
* Must be able to handle lifting as necessary and use
lifting equipment.
* Meets all production standards.
* Responsible for quality of all parts produced.
* Required to maintain housekeeping of machines and
work area and to do other miscellaneous duties as
assigned by Supervisor, Cell Leader and Operations
Manager.
* Adhere to all Standard Work Instructions.
* Meets all production standards.
* Ability to get along with others.
* May direct work of others.
