JOB DESCRIPTIONOrg Marketing Statement

Primary Function:Coordinates all packaging and shipping. Receives all material, processes paperwork, and delivers material to proper departments.Working Procedures:Works with a minimum of supervision.Organizes work to be done in shipping and receiving areas as directed.Processes all shipping documents, verifies and signs all incoming freight bills.Traces shipments when required.Package shipments in proper containers.Schedules incoming outgoing transportation.Responsible for inventory and ordering shipping supplies; cartons, boxes, etc., when approved by supervisor.Verify vendor counts from packing slips, records proper part number and purchase order number onto proper documents.Deliver incoming packages or materials to their destinations within the plant.The above statements reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
Qualifications:Must have a good knowledge of packaging, shipping, and receiving practices at Parker Abex.Must have knowledge of various methods of transportation available.Must be able to handle telephone communications regarding shipping and receiving.Must be physically able to meet demands of lifting containers as required on the job.Should have a minimum of two years packaging, shipping, and receiving experience.Must be able to train new employees as directed.Must be able to handle government paperwork with accuracy.Must have ability to understand and learn required paperwork and related procedures.Must know layout of plant and where all parts or packages are to be delivered.Must be able to operate a forklift.Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all types of people and work with other departments to solve shipping and receiving problems.
