Responsibilities:Executing results by proactively mining data to present issues so that recommendations and solutions can be implemented to reduce or minimize shrink risks.
- Analyze data from multiple sources/systems to identify trends and provide recommendations for action.
- Build report suite to guide field team in identifying areas of opportunity.
- Build report suite to effectively communicate analytical/factual findings across the organization
- Develop and support analytical needs for other areas as needed
- Investigating tools to enhance reporting for improvements and efficiencies
- Predictively lead research analytics to uncover issues and identify areas of opportunity
- Convert data and reports into executive summary and clear communication of issues and findings
Aligning Direction to insure that the Loss Prevention Department is consistent with the goals of the Company
- Support new company initiatives and offering solutions to risk opportunities that may be incurred as a result of these programs
- Innovatively develop / implement new Loss Prevention initiatives that add value to the company and supports the values and priorities of Office Depot
- Emphasize the team's awareness of the company's values, priorities, and growth strategies and establish ways of showcasing these initiatives in the communication and services provided to our customers and business partners
The Data Analyst may have regular contact with the staff of the following Office Depot departments:

- Human Resources
- Risk Management
- Legal
- Store Operations
- Merchandising / Plan-o-gram
- Finance / Sales Accounting / Inventory Accounting
- Construction
- Maintenance
- BSD Area Partners
- All levels
The Data Analyst may have regular contact with the following outside contacts:

- Alarm Monitoring representatives
- EAS vendor representatives
- Guard Services vendors
- Armored Car Services
- Credit card vendors' investigators and training staff
- Retail Industry Loss Prevention professionals
- Law Enforcement Investigators- local, state and federal
- District Attorney's offices
- Office Depot outside legal counsel
- General Contractors
- Deloitte and Touche representatives Qualifications:Bachelor's degree Business / Relevant field
3+ years of experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field
- Experience with large data analysis
- Critical thinking
- Demonstrated success in support / partnership roles
- Ability to decipher large data into usable and actionable information
- Skilled using various analytical tools such as Essbase, SQL, APT, SAS, Cognos, advanced Excel
- Working across the organization to gather data as needed
- Digging into issues to uncover root cause
- Scientific/statistical knowledge for Predictive Modeling
- Must be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization- providing results and recommendations for senior executives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - understanding customer's needs and converting that into usable reports, or delivering a presentation at an executive meeting
- Easily builds partnerships with all support groups and peers
- Knowledgeable of the Office Depot systems and ability le to research and understand financial and inventory issues
- Proficient with computer skills - Essbase, SQL, SAS, APT, Cognos, advanced Excel and other data management tools and presentation construction
Project Management
- Required to manage a variety of projects and performance measures for an average two hundred-store area
- Strong organizational skill
- Demonstrates a global perspective in data analysis, interpretation and communication
- Builds strong relationships across the organization
- Seen as a business partner to other's success
Retail Loss Prevention-
- Clearly expresses an understanding of the role of Loss Prevention in the company and demonstrates an awareness of how to deliver the best results for the business partners
- Ability to manage and maintain confidential information
- Expertise in data mining and converting large data into usable information
- Ability to collect and decipher data from multiple sources or systems
- Communicates clear results from complex data
Retail Store Operations-
- Clear understanding of the retail model and how each support team impacts company profit.
