Department: Simulation
Position Description:
Provides pediatric and adult education to simulation clients. Assesses, designs, implements and evaluates educational needs and programs. Utilizes simulators both as an operator and an educator. Participates in the programming of simulators and the coordination of debriefing sessions. Provides leadership and staff development through education, consultation and scholarly endeavors.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of three (3) years related experience required in healthcare education. Critical Care (PICU, NICU or ED) clinical experience strongly preferred. Five years experience in a clinical profession, including two years with a pediatric focus required. Current licensure in Ohio as a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist. Experience in the application of adult learning principles required. Current certification as a provider in Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life support preferred. Strong communication (verbal and written) skills. Proven capability in teaching, and utilizing adult learning principles in either adult or pediatric settings; knowledge of related theories and instructional media including simulation.
Demonstrated support of continuous performance improvement and learning principles. Capable of consistently exercising diplomacy, patience and tact. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information. Strong organizational skills and independent work initiative. Ability to relate to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Able to facilitate multidisciplinary provider teams. Computer skills required in MicroSoft office products. Ability to be accepted into and enroll in masters degree program within 12 months of hire date.
