SIMULATION R&D SCIENTIST



Primary Responsibilities

Located at Grace Lake Corporate Center (GLCC) in Van Buren Twp., Michigan, near Ann Arbor, MI, this role will be responsible for developing computer simulation tools for vehicle dynamics. The Simulation R&D Scientist will also be responsible for multidisciplinary team interaction, including the generation of simulation environments for design of autonomous navigation systems, developing software in the loop systems, keep design documentation up to date, and work on establishing a workflow process for simulation development.



Typical Duties



* Develop computer simulation tools for robot autonomous navigation systems, specifically simulation tools for vehicle dynamics, inertial navigation, complex computer vision systems, sensors simulations, traffic environment simulations.

* Perform efficient implementations of complex neural network algorithms in massive parallel computers.

* Generate technical documents and reports for internal distribution

* Generate intellectual property

* Feel comfortable to work in a multicultural environment

* Interact with a multidisciplinary team and work together for common goals

* Use tools to generate Virtual reality environments for simulation and design of autonomous navigation systems.

* Deploy and or develop Software-In-the-Loop systems.



Requirements

Required: PhD or MSc in computer vision or related field in an electronics, technology or automotive environment or at least five (5) years of demonstrable R&D experience(including publications).

* Perform efficient implementations of complex neural network algorithms in massive parallel computers.

* Experience on going from abstract mathematical / algorithmic models to practical implementations

* Good programming skills in C/C++

* Good programming skills in Python

* Expertise in Matlab, R and/or Mathematica

* Programming experience in Linux and Window environments

* Strong background on parallel processing and high performance computing (OpenMP, MPI, OpenCL, CUDA)

* Experience in vehicle dynamic simulations is a plus
