POSITION SUMMARY

The Skilled Maintenance Guest Service Representative (GSR) is responsible for maintaining the inns mechanical operations/construction with minimal functional interruptions through the RRI Repair and Maintenance manual and inspection requirements. This position is critical to ensure that the quality of service for Red Roof Inns guests is in accordance with Red Roof Inns brand standards and Hassle Free Guarantee, while working with members of the hotel team, maintaining the inns General and Preventative Maintenance programs, as well as the safety and security of the hotel.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain positive guest relations at all times and understand guests service needs

Using Red Roof Inns set expectations and processes, follow directions thoroughly to monitor and maintain operation, cleanliness, sanitation, safety and organization of guest rooms and other areas

Maintain and repair manageable mechanical/functional operations

Maintain and repair electrical wiring (i.e. switches/lamps); small plumbing problems (i.e. fixtures, pipe replacement/repair); appliance maintenance (i.e. washer, dryer, air conditioner, heater, boiler, etc)

Maintain safety and security, windows, doors, key and lock procedures

Maintain and repair drywall, wall covering, painting, stucco, grouting and tile

Maintain and repair furniture, roofing and shingles

Perform necessary repairs as noted on maintenance cards and inn maintenance log

Follow necessary preventive maintenance schedule outlined on the inn-planning calendar and by inn management

Inspect property to identify current and potential needs and report findings to Repair and Maintenance Engineer and/or General Manager

Maintain safety and security of inn and follow key and lock procedures

Assist Repair and Maintenance Engineer and/or General Manager with projects as assigned

Pick up materials needed to complete assigned work projects; keep maintenance room/area clean, organized and safe condition

Coordinate and review the work of the General Maintenance GSRs

Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces/areas according to OSHA regulations and Red Roof Inn requirements

Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data

Perform work in non-climate controlled conditions

Exert physical effort in operating equipment (up to 50lbs) as well as endure various physical movements throughout the work areas during shift

Assist Housekeeping GSRs in maintaining guest rooms

Comply with all Red Roof Inn and OSHA standards related to safety and security

Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the companys discretion

Provide special services for guests upon request

Assist in other areas of the hotel as needed, such as collecting/delivering dirty linen to laundry, assisting with laundry or housekeeping as needed

Perform self-room inspections and accept feedback from room quality inspections performed by inn management and trained team members

Cross train in laundry, housekeeping, and/or front desk job functions, when possible

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

2-4 years in a previous maintenance or customer service position required

Knowledge of mechanical tools/equipment, general hand tools/equipment, lawnmower and landscaping tools/equipment strongly preferred

Must have experience with plumbing and electrical repairs; HVAC certification preferred, not required

Must maintain professional appearance in Red Roof Inn provided uniform with consistently friendly attitude towards guests and staff

Must be able to easily and frequently change from one task to another and work with minimal supervision

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions

Ability to exert physical effort in operating equipment (up to 50lbs) as well as endure various physical movements throughout the work areas during shift

Ability to work nights, weekend and/or holidays

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position operates in either an exterior and/or interior corridor property and could be exposed to periods of extreme heat and cold. Equipment (mechanical / general tools and cleaning solutions) are used in this position as well. RRI is a pet-friendly hotel and contact with animals may occur at times.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a medium work load which requires the ability to exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally and/or 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force to constantly move objects.
