Job Description
Location:Lower Fairfield
Overview:The primary function of the Small Business Banker is to grow the profitability of the small business customer base within designated area. The SBB will be working with Small Business customers that have aggregate borrowing needs of $500M or less, and with $3MM or less in revenue. The Small Business Banker will be responsible for prospecting new Small Business customers in the designated area and be visible within the small business community.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop new Small Business relationships by proactively making outside business calls both in person and by phone.
· Maintain strong relationships with existing customer base in designated area.
· Analyze customer financial condition and recommend financial solutions that meet the customer’s business and personal needs, while appropriately leveraging the Small Business product line.
· Develop and then strive to meet and exceed established goals.
· Develop and maintain established internal partnerships within retail banking, as well as commercial banking, cash management, and merchant services.
· Identify strong cross selling opportunities throughout various departments in the bank.
· Originate and complete all documentation to open deposit accounts, loans, and business credit card applications.
· Establish First Niagara as bank of choice for Small Business customers within the designated footprint by participating in community outreach.
· Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara’s Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related years of experience. Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven outside sales experience in financial services or small business banking.· Must successfully register and maintain registration annually with The National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing (S.A.F.E.) Act; Proven track record of prospecting new business Ability to TravelExcellent Communication skills, verbal and written, and strong negotiation skills.Demonstrated credit acumen skills with the ability to understand and interpret financial statements and cash flow analysisSuperb Product Knowledge
