SUMMARY:
Provides social work interventions to patients and their family who are experiencing personal and environmental difficulties which may predispose illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefit from medical care. Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in providing assessment of patients. Provides interventions to mobilize and strengthen internal and external resources to enhance patient and their family ability to cope with illness and hospitalization and to promote a timely discharge. Assists with development of policies and procedures, objectives and standards of department practices. This position primarily serves the adult population, but may intervene with patients from newborn to the elderly.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors or Masters Degree from a school of social work, accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Social Worker must be licensed as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Nevada.
Case management certification required within 12 months of hire or position entry
At least two years experience in acute care setting is preferred.
Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Current valid Nevada State driver s license required.

Full-time Day shift
