What you\'ll be doing...

Spatial data and analysis can bring unique insights that cannot otherwise be seen. You will be part of a team that brings spatial data to life to enable a deep and rich understanding of data. This will require designing, implementing and testing code across Tableau's architecture stack. You will build beautiful UI in web and desktop clients and you will implement code in the backend layer. You will do this and more in a highly collaborative environment full of talented professionals who are dedicated to help people "see and understand their data".

Some of the things you'll be doing include...

* You'll work on building and enhancing Tableau's mapping features

* Extending our system to allow for analysis and insights with spatial data

* Designing, building, and testing code across multiple platforms and technologies

* Working in a team of highly motivated engineers who have a passion for maps

* Leveraging your creativity and your technical prowess to satisfy customers and extend their ability to see, understand, and "reach out and touch" their spatial data

Experienced. You have 3+ years of experience writing code in a professional environment. You have strong skills and experience in at least one OO language such as C++ (preferred), C#, or Java, and in web languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Script#, HTML, CSS.

Technically Proficient. You have a passion for solving complex problems and you push to produce the best experience for our users. You are self-driven and pro-active and you hold yourself to a high-bar.

Flexible. You are able to move across process and component boundaries written in different languages to get the job done.

Relentlessly High Standards. You believe in automation and writing tests for your own code as a way of maintaining high quality in your products. You understand what it takes to write software that is used by thousands or millions of people. You love writing things that "just work" - You want to build robust, scalable, and that highly performant code.
