JOB DESCRIPTIONSuperior group is looking for a Software Engineer Sr. II - Aero Software Engineer for our client located in Arlington, TX
The Aero Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, integrating and test of high fidelity, scalable, physics-based Aerodynamics Software models for Real-Time simulation training applications.
Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and fixing existing software discrepancies in a variety of aerodynamic subsystems such as: engines, flight controls, control loading, motion, and aircraft systems.
Provide aerodynamic software design, development and integration support on a variety of simulator programs for both helicopter and fixed wing platforms
Support peer reviews for aero software solutions
Troubleshoot pre-existing software discrepancies within the aero domain
Support testing activity both in the lab and on the simulator to include flight test matching, qualification test guide (QTG) analysis and certification testing
Ability to work with a variety of aero subsystems and understand the interactions with other simulator subsystems
Ability to work tasks to completion with minimal guidance
Systems integration experience
Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must exhibit strong problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and good team work
Experience developing in a Unix or Linux operating system environment
Required Skills / Qualifications:
B/S in Aerodynamics, Physics, Mathematics
Minimum of 8 years of aerodynamic engineering technical experience
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in software development with C/C++, Fortran, and Ada
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Experience working with FAA Level ‘D’ fidelity requirements is desired
Proficiency with Matlab Simulink is a plus
