Job Summary

The Senior Software Test Engineer will perform development verification and system level testing of complex MPEG-2, 4, and HEVC, ATS, DVB satellite set-top receivers/encoders within distribution networks. Responsible for design verification testing (DVT), develop DVT test procedures, and test of object based embedded software for the next generation of satellite set-top/encoder products. They will also integrate embedded software that controls real time MPEG2, 4, and HEVC compression, IP data encapsulation, media routing, MPEG-2, 4, and HEVC transcoding, and intelligent network control systems.

Integrate with 3rd party interactive applications or integrated with 3rd party network management, control systems, and media servers.

Interface with development team, systems, System Integration and Test, field support groups, and other DVT team members.

Use PC based test tools to generate uplink messages, code test scripts, and generate test cases/procedures to verify set-top box/encoder requirements.

Design, program and maintain custom testing tools for internal use.

Additional Experience

Prefer experience in software development tools (Jira, PTC Integrity, Unix, Linux, GIT, Lab view and windows)

Familiar with MPEG-2/4/HEVC and/or DVB Service Information is desired.

Experience in writing test case and procedure.

Strong team work and capable to be effective in multi-tasking technical environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science and 5 years of Engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science and 2 years engineering experience.
