DURATION: FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION
LOCATION: ANYWHERE IN USA (80% TRAVEL REQUIRED)
Typically, Solution Architecture (EA) Consultants will have a proven track record in managing and delivering high value solution architecture engagements and major technology consulting and transformation programmes with a specific focus on the CIO/ Chief Architect agenda across a number of industry sectors.
Our expectation is that the consultants will be able to identify and qualify opportunities; provide advisory services to customers that address business problems utilising people, process and technologies to develop target solution architectures, roadmaps to transition from the current state and associated solutions where appropriate. Those advisory services typically involve working closely with senior leadership within the client to understand their business problems; develop solutions that make strategic and business sense; create proposals that are a win-win for the client and CLIENT; manage the consulting engagement and ensuring that the downstream delivery is set up for success.
Solution ArchitectConsultants will be able to demonstrate high levels of proficiency in the required competencies such that they are recognised as a role model for the Business and IT Architecture practice and the wider global consulting group. They will have experience and knowledge of delivery including 3 or more of the following: Solution Architecture Definition working with the account/sales teams in exploring and selling Solution Architecture opportunities (solicited or unsolicited by current and new clients);Independently developing business opportunities with existing and new clients; developing relationships with clients and potential clients either in new sales, cross-selling or up-selling and leading or participating in the preparation of RFI/RFP responses to clients.
Alongside client work the candidate is expected to participate in the development of service offering definitions, collateral material, and execution tool sets. They will evaluate others and can effectively mentor/coach others to acquire the required competency. Additionally it is expected that candidates will contribute and own the development of white papers and other research to help disseminate knowledge and thought leadership across client.
All candidates will exhibit and be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
DOMAIN EXPERIENCE: Candidates for the role will possess experience of working within a consultancy organisation including client engagements, relationship management and practice leadership with experience of managing and delivering complex Solution Architecture and governance consulting engagements. Candidates must have strong experience in Banking and Financial Services area, preferably in payments, channels, cards and core-banking. Being able to clearly and concisely articulate business & technology solutions, as-is and to-be architectures and associated technology domain specific architectures, transition to target state roadmaps and solutions incorporating approaches such as transformation, rationalisation, consolidation, virtualization, digital innovation, green solutions, cloud services and operational maturity improvement.
From an architecture perspective, candidates must demonstrate a strong domain focus covering one or more of Business Architecture, Solution Architecture, Technical Architecture (i.e. application, infrastructure, data, security etc.). It is expected that candidates will have at least 5-8years' experience in one of these domains and minimum 2 years of experience in solution architecture and/or design.
Experience in developing & delivering offshore/multi-location solutions working across multiple geographies with multi-disciplined and cultural teams.
Experience with the implementation of methodologies such as TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL etc. would be strong advantage, including the development of bespoke methodologies incorporating concepts of some or all of the key industry methodologies.
CLIENT AND INDUSTRY: Will have worked across numerous clients and many industry sectors with specific knowledge of banking and financial services including industry best practice and sector specific experience.
COMMERCIAL ACUMEN: Must have good knowledge of financial management processes, profit &loss accounting and approach challenges from a business perspective. As a consultant, will understand the importance of managing utilisation and profitability, along with knowledge of building deliverable and commercially viable propositions and associated structures.

* Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Business Process Management (BPM), Middleware/ Integration, ESB
* eCommerce, Portals, Internet Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise Application Integration, Business Process Management, Business Intelligence, Service Oriented Architecture & Middleware, Enterprise Security, Enterprise Mobility, Digital Enterprise Solutions, Customer & Partner Channels and Information Management solutions.
INNOVATION & CREATIVITY: Utilising broad and deep experience in their subject matter, they will be able to constantly address new problems using creativity and innovative approaches. Lateral thinking and a flair for dynamic and diverse solution creation will be exhibited by all consultants throughout their careers to date. Thought leadership is a key attribute that is expected from our consultants and candidates need to demonstrate experience of providing this to senior customer stakeholders and to achieved buy in and ultimate benefit realisation.
ORGANIZING & PLANNING: Consultants are senior and experienced individuals, who need minimal management and direction, can competently manage both their own time and activities and that of others. Ensuring clear and appropriate prioritization and planning of activities, and utilizing resources in an effective and efficient fashion.
DIVERSITY: Experienced consultants will have experience of working in geographically and culturally diverse organisations and understand the specific challenges that these environments present. Building and constantly developing a wide network of relationships both within the organisation and across the client landscape will be crucial to success.
* Minimum of a BSC/BA Hons degreepreferably in a business or technology subject area
* TOGAF Certification is a desirable
