Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Apply knowledge of procurement, negotiation, and material management principles and techniques in purchase and inventory of products and services. Where appropriate, support other personnel in resolution of activities of related contracts.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions: Implement standards contained in Westinghouse Codes of Business Ethics and Conduct. Ensure that all employees reporting to this position are informed about the standards and related policies, and enforce them within this supervised activity.
*1. Solicit quotations and analyze contract proposals associated with equipment and services.
*2. Negotiate pricing, delivery, terms and conditions to satisfy financial, quality and delivery requirement. Process purchase orders within limits of authority.
*3. Develop and maintain working relationships with suppliers and internal partners to maintain adequate sources of supply. Identify standard engineering, quality and administrative issues, assisting with resolution to fulfill internal and external procurement requirements on complex contracts.
*4. Lead the development and implementation of procurement quality initiatives.
*5. Generate and maintain master data records with Westinghouse systems related to procurement activities.
*6. Identify and obtain cost improvements of purchased materials and services.
*7. Obtain training and acquire additional skills/knowledge to ensure compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements and enhance personal growth.
*8. Coordinate and expedite material deliveries.
9. Develop and execute category plans designed to generate savings and process efficiencies.
10. Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Knowledge of SAP preferred.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills Desired:
I. KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of procurement, negotiation, and material management principles, practices, and procedures.
Bachelors degree or equivalent in non-technical field such as Business Administration or Supply management. Three years of professional experience desired.
II. PROBLEM SOLVING
Apply procurement principles and techniques to resolve contract issues. Apply material management principles to resolve supply issues and minimize investment. Resolution requires concurrence of senior personnel.
III. RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY
Typical procurement limits of authority are up to $100,000. Authority may be extended with approval. Communicate information to intra/inter-business unit personnel and suppliers to reach agreement on recommendations related to contract completion, compliance, and termination.
