$47,600 - $70,800
As Special Assistant to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Governmental & Community Relations and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity & Inclusion, the incumbent plays a key role in managing the daily activities of the offices and performing a variety of administrative functions. The position requires a high level of discretion, organization and the ability to work independently. The Special Assistant deals with complex and sensitive issues requiring professionalism and confidentiality, sets priorities and exercises initiative in completing a high volume of varied and complex duties, and manages some projects on independently. **Finalists selected for an interview will be required to submit a work sample/complete and assessment as part of the interview process.**
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Work/Travel outside of business hours to attend conferences, meetings and or events etc.
Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Strong service orientation.
Advising and counseling skills.
Strong skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, faculty, alumni/donors, students and external constituencies; both verbally and in writing.
Strong skills in analyses and complex problem-solving.
Political acumen and sensitivities to the differing perspectives and political circumstances within all levels of the organization as well as the Office of the President and external constituencies.
Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Thorough knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Familiarity with the organization's processes, protocols and procedures.
Knowledge of federal regulations such as FERPA.
