JOB DESCRIPTIONROLE SUMMARY:
The Specialist, Financial Reporting role is responsible for supporting the financial reporting function for Buckeye Partners, L.P. and associated entities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
FINANCIAL REPORTING/ SEC FILING PREPARATION. Assisting with preparation of periodic SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, as well as standalone financial statements of private companies.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION. Obtaining, reviewing and compiling support for financial information within the periodic SEC filings and private-company reports.
SARBANES-OXLEY COMPLIANCE. Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal requirements within the Financial Reporting Department.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATION. Working and communicating with various internal groups, including general accounting, segment accounting groups, budgeting, and financial planning.
EXTERNAL AUDITOR SUPPORT. Assisting with providing accounting support to external auditors.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS. Assisting with identifying process improvements, implementing changes and ensuring best practices.
And other duties as assigned.
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline required.
Master s Degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
Big 4 Audit Firm experience is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND ABILITIES:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Effective interpersonal skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Commitment to strict reporting deadlines and timelines, as well as availability to work overtime when necessary to meet such deadlines.
