The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine anticipates an opening for non-tenured, academic term appointment in the Specialist Series in the Division of Family Planning. The specialist will join a collaborative team of family planning trained physicians from the
University of California, Irvine, Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino, and Family Planning Associates of Los Angeles County to ensure access to the full scope of evidence-based reproductive services on a need-blind basis to all of the patients in Orange County.
Responsibilities include aiding in guiding the development of the research infrastructure at UC Irvine, utilizing pre-existing resources within the Divisions of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Gynecology Oncology, as well as in the Department of Biostatistics and Public Health on the UC Irvine graduate
and undergraduate campuses; and serve as a lead collaborator who can realize the full potential of joint projects with the local Planned Parenthood and Family Planning Associates, statewide with FamPACT, MediCAL, and five UC's, and internationally with our family planning partners.
Requirements - Candidate must possess an MPH or PhD with a demonstrated career focus in the production of excellent, novel, and relevant research that addresses the current gaps in family planning clinical care and practices. Must have a complete understanding of the full potential of joint projects with the local Planned Parenthood and Family Planning Associates, statewide with
FamPACT, MediCAL, and five UC's, and internationally with our family planning partners. Extensive experience and publications in abortion and reproductive health research as well as experience in teaching, research and/or community services is desired.
This is an ongoing recruitment. Positions are dependent on extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal will be dependent on the availability of support.
