JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Summary
SUMMARY Assess and plan treatment programs for patients relevant to physical dysfunction and implement by direct or delegated care as ordered by referring physician. Serve as a professional care provider, educator, consultant and coordinator.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Evaluate patient`s level of function; develop and implement plan of treatment. 2. Monitor patient progress; maintains timely and accurate patient records. 3. Completes all patient documentation and enters charges for services provided. 4. Coordinates / collaborates with members of the medical treatment staff regarding client`s current or recommended treatment, progress and discharge planning. 5. Ensures proper scheduling of patients to maximize utilization of time. 6. Participates in individual and staff development and expansion of services. 7. Assists in development and marketing of speech language pathology services to appropriate population. 8. Demonstrates the componets of the I CARE values statement (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence). 9. Demonstrates Service PRIDE Standards (smiles and makes eye contact; greets each patient and visitor; seeks out patient and visitor contact; displays appropriate body language at all times; takes 5 minutes each day to go above and beyond for 1 patient or visitor; honors diversity; thanks every customer). 10. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace. 11. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Have 5 years of general experience including acute inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings. Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team member and to be able to work independently. Ability to assess and teat adults and/or pediatric patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Demonstrates good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Work and Excel programs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED Current Texas license as a Speech-language Pathologist. Certified by the American Speech-language Pathology and Audiology Association. Current American Heart Association BLS required.
