Sponsored Programs Manager
The Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health was formally created in 2012 and was named in recognition of a transformative gift by the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation. With strong connections to the IU School of Medicine and other health science schools on the IUPUI campus, the School of Public Health is poised to be a catalyst to help build a collaborative approach to improved public health in Indiana. The School of Public Health currently employs over 50 full-time faculty within the departments of Epidemiology, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Health Policy and Management, Environmental Health, and Biostatistics. It is imperative that we develop, implement, and maintain a successful research program and extramural funding portfolio to aid in the establishment of a distinctive identity in Public Health innovation for the school.
The Sponsored Programs Manager will oversee all grant preparation, grant submission, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiations for the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. S/he will carry out all post-award account management for the school.
The primary duties of the Sponsored Programs Manager will be to work with faculty in managing all post award administrative aspects of extramural and intramural research grants, community service contracts, and instructional agreements. S/he will serve as the primary liaison from the school with the Office of Research Administration at IUPUI. The Sponsored Programs Manager will provide fiscal oversight for all university accounts within the sponsored program number series and develop monthly fiscal reports for distribution to faculty to facilitate accuracy on these accounts. S/he will be responsible for A21 effort report completion, financial document initiation, transaction level reviews, account reconciliation, and final financial report completion. S/he will communicate with sponsoring agencies on matters regarding fiscal compliance, billing, and proposal / report submission.
The position formally reports to the Director of Finance and Administration of the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI. However, some tasks, duties, and special projects will be assigned by the Associate Dean for Research.
Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution, plus 3 years of related experience. A combination of experience and education at 2:1 ratio may be considered. Familiarity with federal grant regulations is required.
To be successful candidates should be able to manage highly confidential information and sensitive data. Should be able to work independently, have a high level of accuracy and sound judgment.
Supervisory experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the use of desktop computer, copier, fax and standard office tools.
Walking, communicating, standing, sitting, and the ability to lift 10-20 lbs.
