Sprinkler Designer-SimplexGrinnell

About the role:

* Responsible for all aspects of sprinkler design including hydraulic calculations, shop drawings preparation, and project management

* Design and layout fire protection systems to meet NFPA standards and AHJ requirements

* Coordinate piping layout and elevations with other trades

* List material for ordering and fabrication after drawings have been approved

* Oversee material procurement, costs, and delivery

* Troubleshoot issues raised by the AHJ, customers, and installers

* Prepare hydraulic calculations and project submittal drawings

* Receive and respond to customer design needs

* Maintain project drawing files, drawing library, and associated records

Who were looking for:

* Minimum qualification of a NICET level II in Water-Based Systems Layout is desired

* Previous experience of at least three years in the fire protection industry

* AutoCAD experience, combined with experience in designing and performing hydraulic calculations for sprinkler or water spray systems is required

* AutoSprink and/or SprinkCAD knowledge or experience is a plus

* Self-motivated with flexibility to respond to emergency situations

* Good interpersonal and communication skills combined with the ability to work with minimum supervision

* Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

* Ability to field survey buildings and facilities as required in the design process

* Valid drivers license and dependable transportation

* Willingness to travel domestically 5-10%
