The Senior Accountant is responsible for the processing weekly hourly and bi-weekly salaried payrolls. In addition, this position will be responsible for the preparation and filing of all required government documents and reports. Staff Accountant also supports an operating department manager as SPOC (Single Point Of Contact) for any financial and analytical needs. The successful candidate will need to possess good oral and written communications skills, be able to operate in a fast paced environment and be able to keep confidential information private.


* Process weekly hourly and bi-weekly salaried payrolls

* Responsible for all reports relating to the Tax and Trade Bureau. This includes preparation of monthly and bi-monthly, and all require export documentation.

* Quarterly sales tax remittance for the state of Ohio

* Gross margin ideation and execution

* All cash management activities (Petty Cash, Local Checking) including ACH/wire transactions, all SAP activity entry, and month end reconciliations.

* Preparation of monthly union dues remittances

* Audit and billing reconciliations for all employee benefits related costs

* General Ledger analysis for postings for accuracy. Provide account reconciliations and verify/reclassify dollars where appropriate.

* Assist with month end closing process and financial reporting including:

* Accruals- AP, Temp Labor, Health Insurance, utility accrual

* Reconcile union dues remitted/month

* Utility Analysis

* Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

* Provide internal and external (Corporate) ad hoc reports to assist in business decisions by key management

* Involved in the preparation of the budget and other financial forecasts including:

* Prepare slides for LE/budget relating to utilities/facilities

* Waterfall slides and analysis

* Participate in establishing the overall strategy and operational plans that will concentrate efforts toward successful achievement of financial goals

* SPOC duties including:

* Assist in reporting and support for all cost centers financial activities

* Variance analysis

* G/L posting accuracy

* Budget preparation for all cost components (labor, utilities, overheads, G&A)

* Capital projects (CapEx) support:

* Justification calculations

* Form review for completeness and accuracy

* Complete SAP set-up requirements (internal order, fixed asset, in-service transactions)

* Quarterly TTB controls testing

* Identify and implement Continuous Improvement efforts in responsible areas (TTB reporting, Payroll processing, etc.)



* Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment.

* Demonstrated experience with general ledger, cash management, and payroll.

* Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word & Access).

* ERP experience required.

* Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance required.


* Government reporting and sales tax experience helpful

* Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills are necessary.

* Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word & Access).

* SAP experience a plus.
