JOB DESCRIPTION:

*

Responsible for standard accounting processes and procedures, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
*

May perform financial report analysis, accounting system/procedures development and implementation under general direction.
*

Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
*

Expected to have 2-5years of demonstrated experience in all general facets of corporate accounting.
*

Professional certification (e.g., PA, CPA, etc.) may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

*

Monitoring hedge fund subscription ensuring transaction & cash settlement, including reconciling terms to trade tickets and tracking receipt of documentation by/from counterparties.
*

Coordinating wire instructions with custodian banks for investment purchases & portfolio expenses.
*

Reviewing daily cash reconciliations and resolving outstanding items.
*

Monthly reconciliation of transactions, valuations, management & performance fee calcs, P&L and other activity between Investran accounting system and vendor records.
*

Verifying accuracy of investor capital balances, NAV allocations and capital activity on a monthly basis.
*

Tracking emails within group inbox and responding to queries or escalating time-sensitive items.
*

Providing daily/monthly/ad-hoc reporting & support to internal & external stakeholders.

KEY CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE:

*

Prior investment fund accounting experience (i.e. booking journal entries, performing reconciliations, closing books & issuing monthly/quarterly NAVs) is essential.
*

Experience in hedge funds (HFs) or fund of hedge funds (FoHFs) is preferred.
*

Experience in trade settlements for HFs or FoHFs is a plus.
*

Knowledge of private equity or derivatives, or experience with Investran (accounting system), is a plus.
*

Candidates with typically suitable backgrounds come from fund administrators (SEI, BNY Mellon, BNP, etc.) or other HF/FoHF investment managers (Och Ziff, Blackrock, etc.).
*

Range of experience - 2-5years, although we're OK with up to a few more years of experience.
*

However, we are looking for more of a staff-level worker (even if they have supervised others) and not a head of a large team/department that has held senior officer titles.
