Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager - Global Accounting Operations or the Accounting area overseer function, this role is responsible for assisting in the processes and analytics that will ensure that the books and records of the Company are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and in compliance with the Company's policies and procedures.
This position is also responsible for preparing highly detailed analytical reports supporting monthly activity that will ensure the accuracy of financial statements for various business units and functions within the Company.
This role will perform various accounting functions that will require a general higher level of knowledge of general accounting methods, principles, and practices, and a strong understanding of the overall accounting practices of the Company. This role will also help implement solutions to daily accounting issues under the guidance of management.
This position will prepare analyses of transactions, trends, and key indicators, of financial and will help to identify complex financial problems, assist in the research of solutions, and correction of issues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyze variances to plan, forecast and prior year periods in sufficient detail to ensure accuracy of the income statement and balance sheet.
2. Participate in the preparation of month-end accruals, deferrals, provisions and make journal entries as necessary to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Prepare analyses for the balance sheet and cash flow results on a monthly basis.
4. Prepare analytical reports to support month-end balances and/or activity that affect the income statement and balance sheet.
5. Through analytics, make recommendations and help implement actions required to correct or enhance processes.
6. Prepare analyses and reconciliations for various asset, liability and owner equity accounts and review periodically those prepared by our business processing outsourcers, as assigned.
7. Help identify and implement process improvements that will simplify and/or correct accounting processes.
8. Prepare monthly cost analytics and related reports, including balance sheet offsets as required.
9. Prepare deferral accounting relating to costs or revenue as required.
10. Prepare or keep abreast of all monthly, quarterly and year end closing processes and schedules to ensure completion of activities timely.
11. Perform controls as directed that will support the requirements of the business process owner within their SAS70 statement.
-Ensure an understanding of new or revised accounting policies and procedures as directed by management. 13. Participate in providing information in support of audits with the internal and external auditors and help to ensure comments are cleared.
-Provide documentation of controls for testing by the Global SOX Office and help to ensure exceptions are remediated. -Perform some supervisory functions if directed by management. -Consistent with all positions in this classification, additional projects, tasks and/or duties beyond what is outlined here may be assigned as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May participate in limited supervisory responsibilities for personnel including training and coordinating work flow.
