The Advanced Clinical Systems (ACS) project was a recently completed and extremely large effort coordinated by the Steward Program Management Office, a division of the Information Services Department. Steward Health Care will now be undergoing a MEDITECH 6.x upgrade, which presents another large effort that is currently underway. In addition, our current MEDITECH software continues to run in our LIVE 5.54 environment, requiring analyst support and maintenance. The Advanced Clinical Systems Senior Applications Analyst performs an extensive range of duties, including analysis, design, testing, documentation, training, report writing and daily user support. These functions are critical to the ultimate success of the entire ACS 6.x upgrade and implementation process, as well as to the existing MEDITECH version maintenance and support. GENERAL Performs a wide variety of duties including but not limited to testing, documentation, report writing and daily user support for the Advanced Clinical Applications. Should have the ability to interpret and develop functional specifications, flowcharts, input and output specifications, and operational specifications. Determine and accommodate the impact of various system changes on users, automated or manual, troubleshoot various problems, and respond to user department needs. Will interact with all level of users throughout the organization to clarify and verify requests for change. The Senior Analyst will play a large part in the 6.x upgrade implementation process. They will perform a wide variety of duties including but not limited to: analysis, design, testing, documentation, and training for the 6.x Advanced Clinical Applications. Should have the ability to compare MEDITECH 5.54 functionality and design with the newer 6.x version of MEDITECH, assisting the implementation in interpreting and developing functional specifications, flowcharts, input and output specifications, and operational specifications. Will interact with all level of users throughout the organization to clarify and verify requirements at all stages of analysis, design, and implementation. The Senior Analyst reports to the Advanced Clinical Applications Manager and will work closely with the Project Manager for the 6.x upgrade. The position consults closely with healthcare staff, software vendor representatives, and Information Services Department staff and management. The Senior Analyst has the authority to change processes and make recommendations that are needed to implement both current and future upgraded information systems. SYSTEM / PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION Works under the direction of a Project Manager on Enterprise Projects. Defines, performs analyses of, and identifies solutions for moderately complex problems. Participates in workflow and process re-design decisions with the implementation of new IT technology to business processes. Follows the Program Management Office methodologies for all phases of the project life cycle. Develops key project deliverables including scope, time lines, milestones, deliverables and areas of responsibility. Gathers data needed to populate system profiles, master files, and dictionaries to design input/output requirements. Prepares documentation, work-flow charts and diagrams to specify operations to be performed by either programs or manually by personnel within the system Responsible for several large components of large complex projects. Manages project plans, identifies key milestones, and raises critical project issues such as resource needs and contingencies. Works directly with users in defining new application requirements, resolving issues, and providing IT perspective to strategic business planning.
