JOB DESCRIPTIONVITAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES is seeking a SR. APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER for a contract to hire role with an excellent company in Fairfield, CA. Our client is a nationwide known company that is still is extensive growth mode and this position is a critical role. This role will be working with a team to support one of the company's highest profile clients.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program and enhance current business systems by teaming up with BA's, Systems Testing, QA and Network Groups
-Install and development applications for Business Group ad needed
-Debug, enhance and develop systems to minimize all system outages
-Provide technical assistance to Enterprise Technology customer and partners, including training.
-Knowledge of multiple technologies and ability to learn implementation of new technologies and migrations
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
-Experience working with SQL Servers
- Experience working with business based applications
-Ability to be on call 24/7 as needed
-COBOL knowledge a plus
-Understanding of Websphere MQ and/or Lifecycle Manager
-Familiar with IBM Midrange operating systems
-Insurance industry knowledge a plus
