Job Description

This position leverages technical depth in dessert based products to lead long-term growth and new technology initiatives in the desserts category. The person provides overall technical leadership across a variety of initiatives which may include growth, quality improvement and/or cost savings initiatives. The position has direct interface w/ Business (Marketing), Operations and Quality partners.

- The candidate will plan and conduct independent exploratory and new product dvelopment projects, participate in development of objectives, and execute against the same recommending action plans to implement key findings. -The candidate will participate in the development of long-term technical strategies to deliver the category's strategic plan, and provide input and guidance to co-workers on their technical approach to ensure alignment to the strategies -The candidate will represent R&D on cross-functional teams by communicating technical perspectives, in the early scoping and concept/protocept development phase -The candidate will properly document and communicate to peers, project summaries and key findings for documentation and application to future projects.

Requirements:
BS/MS in Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering
15 years Product Development and commercialization experience in a CPG company (with Kraft or other Food & Beverage Company)
5 years Aseptic Dairy product/process development experience preferred
2 years Experience with NEW product development (innovation) from concept to commercialization
10 years Technical program leadership
In depth understanding of Food Science and the relationship between food ingredients and processing.
Self-Motivated by problem solving and inherent curiosity to understand how things work
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and influence technical direction of new products
Strong technical skills in ingredient interactions/functionality and food chemistry
Ability to manage multiple complex programs concurrently
Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication
Executional excellence and personal leadership a must
